    Situated on the Black Isle, a peninsular noted for its attractive fishing villages and unspoilt countryside just north of Inverness, the house is ideally located for exploring the whole of the Highland region.

    There is plenty to see and do in the immediate area. Golf, mountain biking, horse riding, sailing, canoeing, hill walking and mountain climbing are all local pastimes. Boat trips to view the dolphins, seals and vast array of seabirds closer to hand are also available nearby.

    Black Isle Wildlife

    The immediate area is a bird watcher's delight. Rare red kite wheel overhead and buzzards, swallows and house martins are all regularly seen. Backing onto open woodland, the occasional Roe Deer can be seen in the early morning and evening.

    The house is set in large country gardens, with mature trees and shrubs and plenty of lawned area for children to run around and explore. A welcoming spot to sit and admire the superb views across the water to the hills beyond.

    The pretty coastal towns and fishing villages dotted around the Black Isle are truly charming. Urquhart Mill is only 15 minutes' drive from Inverness, the Highland capital city.

    Situated on the banks of the Ness this attractive and vibrant city has an excellent selection of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, as well as a superb multi million pound theatre complex, multi screen cinema, ice rink and an amazing wild water aqua dome. From this pivotal location visitors are spoilt for choice. Head West along the shores of Loch Ness passing Castle Uquhart to Fort William, Mallaig and the road to the Isles.

  • Coigach and Highlands
    Explore the Highlands

    To the north is the wild and dramatic scenery of Sutherland and Caithness, and to the south Avimore and the Cairngorm National Park. West is Wester Ross, Coigach and Assynt.

    These regions offer some of the wildest landscapes and scenery in Europe. Rugged mountains, tranquil glens, Caledonian forests, forgotten villages and crofts. Deer, eagles, otter and pine martin frequent the land. Cycling, walking, climbing and exploring are all within easy drive of Urquhart Mill.
